About Me

Hi, I’m Igal Harmelin-Moria. Born in Israel, I have pursued meditation and the development of consciousness as well as the study of scriptures of world religions since 1973. I have studied extensively with two spiritual teachers, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and Andrew Cohen.

This blog is primarily meant for writing commentaries on the the Torah portions and other scriptures. Please consider these commentaries as a study, like études in music. I am also writing it as a gesture of respect towards my many ancestors who were killed in WWII, some of whom were rabbis and Torah scholars.

I hope that some readers will find the insights presented here inspiring and useful.

Many thanks to Rabbi Kaya Stern-Kaufman of Rimon, Resource Center for Jewish Spirituality, for her constant inspiration and support. Thanks to Sarah Jackson for patient editorial advice. Thanks also due to Yair Zilberman and Rae Long for technical support.

    Good Morning,

I am intrigued to find out how we might be related. A cousin, Stephen Harmelin of Philadelphia has done extensive research on the family name. My grandfather came from Lvov.

We live in the Berkshires and will be returning from a short vacation on the morning of March 28th. I would love to come to KI and meet you.

Look forward to hearing from you. Best regards, Gayle
